Our Committment

Ecological Analysis, LLC is an environmental planning and natural resources consulting firm located in Middletown, New York. EA is committed to sustainable development and the preservation, restoration, and protection of the natural environment. We provide science, engineering, and expertise to help our clients minimize the environment, human health, and ecological impacts of their projects, while complying with the laws that govern our work.

 

Our staff has been working in lower New York State for many years and understand the complex ecological communities from the lower Westchester urban areas, up through the Hudson highlands, the Catskills and the Southern Tier.

Company Profile

Working in the Environmental and Fisheries fields for over 30 years has provided the senior staff of Ecological Analysis with a vast exposure to and experience with many aspects of environmental studies and regulations. Some of the projects we have been associated with have ranged from designing and building fish farms as well as the operations therein, to preparing State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) documents, site plan work, approvals and permitting for large residential developments. We have the necessary experience working with both clients and various agencies to ensure favorable outcomes for all concerned. 


Our approach is to develop a framework of achievable goals for our clients and then to continue working to accomplish them. This may involve meeting with local planning boards, environmental conservation boards, and/or obtaining state or federal permits for large projects or individual property owners. The staff of Ecological Analysis, LLC, has both the requisite experience and the know-how to deal with all aspects of seeing a project through all the field studies and regulatory processes to a successful outcome.

Representative Clients & Projects

BIRCHWOOD ESTATES - WILD LIFE AND HABITAT ASSESSMENT

Ecological Analysis, LLC provided the Biological Survey of the proposed Birchwood Estates Subdivision and has researched relevant information concerning target species (including bird, mammal, reptile, amphibian, aquatic, and plant species) identified and mapped wildlife habitats including Hemlock Forests. The list includes those species likely to be of concern within each mapped habitat and have included threatened and endangered wildlife species listed by the NYSDEC. It also included an assessment of electronic and published data documenting habitat requirements, diagnostic information, and known occurrences. EA has worked has part of the project team on the EAF Part 3 to obtain SEQRA and Site Plan approvals for the 70 unit development.

 

BLOOMING GROVE POND

Ecological Analysis, LLC has completed field work and applications as well as applying for and receiving a permit to dredge a five-acre pond with a protected stream. Also obtained was a one-year permit extension on the project from the NYSDEC.

 

CHAPIN ESTATES EXPANSION- WETLANDS, WILDLIFE AND HABITAT ASSESSMENT AND PHASE I/ESA

Ecological Analysis, LLC provided the Biological Habitat Assessment, wetland delineation, and Environmental Site Assessment for the proposed 2000 plus acre expansion of the development into the Towns of Bethel, Lumberland, and White Lake.

 

CONTINENTAL ORGANICS – FISH GROW-OUT OPERATIONS

Ecological Analysis, LLC provided day-to-day operation for an abandoned Tilapia grow-out facility until the fish could safely be moved to a permanent location.

 

CYNTHIAROAD - WETLAND & WILDLIFE AND HABITAT ASSESSMENT

Ecological Analysis, LLC provided the Biological Habitat Assessment and wetland delineation for the proposed De v e l o p me n t in the Town of Binghamton.

 

GIBBOR ROAD - DEC PERMITTING AND LEGAL ISSUES

Ecological Analysis, LLC worked with the client and the NYSDEC in furtherance of resolving legal and compliance issues connected with this project.

HIGHLAND SAND AND GRAVEL –PHASE I AND PERMITS

Ecological Analysis, LLC provided both a Phase I ESA and filed air permits for NYSDEC in compliance with the reporting conditions for a NYSDEC permit during transfer of ownership.

 

KIMBALL PARK- WETLAND DELINEATION AND PCN

Ecological Analysis, LLC completed a wetland delineation for this project in accordance to the New Draft Interim Northcentral and Northeast Regional Supplement to the US Corps of Engineers manual and submitted the delineation and the request and subsequently received a Jurisdictional Determination (JD) and a Preconstruction Notification Number (PCN) for the project to fill approximately 0.10 acres of regulated wetland for an entrance and parking area for the Town of Montgomery's Rail Trail Park.

LEVY WHITE LAKE - PERMIT EXTENSION

Ecological Analysis, LLC obtained a NYSDEC permit extension for shoreline and beachfront work on White Lake in Sullivan County, New York.

IVY LANE – EAGLE NEST IMPACT ASSESMENT AND DEC PERMITTING
Ecological Analysis, LLC has provided both an environmental assessment and mitigation measures for a client
who upon discovering an Eagle’s nest called for guidance on the correct way to proceed on a four lot subdivision.
It was recommended to proceed the tree clearing and excavation outside of the breeding season and use signage and minimize noise by using the minimum amount of equipment while on site.

MCKEAN POND - VEGETATION SURVEY

Ecological Analysis, LLC has worked on a multiyear vegetation survey and reported those findings to the NYSDEC in compliance with the reporting conditions for a NYSDEC permit.

 

MENDERIS ROAD - WILDLIFE STUDY & REPORT

Ecological Analysis, LLC provided t h e B i o l o g i c a l S u r v e y f o r the proposed M e n d e r i s S u b d i v i s i o n by researching relevant information concerning target species (including bird, mammal, reptile, amphibian, aquatic, and plant species) identifying and mapping wildlife habitats including Hemlock Forests. The list included those species likely to be of concern within each mapped habitat; and included threatened and endangered wildlife species listed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC). The report also included an assessment of electronic and published data documenting habitat requirements, diagnostic information, and known occurrences. The survey entailed field reconnaissance of the entire project site to evaluate and document the existing habitat types and conditions and to determine the presence or absence of potential habitats associated with the species identified during the research effort. During this time EA also conducted surveys looking for individuals of target species that would be expected to be present on the property. The presence of species utilizing the property has been documented within a comprehensive Biological Habitat Assessment Report. The Report documents the presence or absence of the target species as well describing the species identified, and includes photographs of the habitat areas and drew conclusions concerning the potential use of the property by the target species. The Report included specific mitigation measures as may be necessary to protect the identified wildlife habitats. It addressed whether or not it is possible, through the subdivision design, to incorporate wildlife corridors connecting such habitats, so that the Town Board could determine with reasonable certainty whether such mitigation would thus avoid significant environmental impacts on the wildlife under consideration.

 

NORSE ENERGY – STORMWATER, WETLANDS AND WILDLIFE

Ecological Analysis, LLC has completed both the environmental and ecological working for the gas well drilling pads. EA has done the wetland and wildlife work as well as assisting or the writing of the SWPPPs.

 

OLYMPIC ESTATES - SEQRA APPROVALS AND SITE PLAN APPROVALS

Ecological Analysis, LLC worked with the local planning board to obtain both SEQRA and site plan approvals for a 141 unit development located on County Route 53 in the Town of Fallsburg, NY. The project was recently zoned REC1, however, when the planning process was initiated it was mapped in the B-1 zone. The density of the project was based and completed on the density allowed within the B-1 zoning laws. The project includes 141 single-family detached dwellings, which will be constructed for year round use but will be occupied primarily during the summer months. Community facilities will include a swimming pool, baseball field, and tennis court, as well as playgrounds for the younger children. The site encompasses 187.8 acres of area, of which about 65.8 acres is proposed for development. The development will be served by a private water supply and municipal sanitary sewer facilities. A series of loop roads owned by the homeowner's association will provide internal circulation.

KUTCHER’S RESORT / VERIA LIFESTYLE REPURPOSING
Ecological Analysis, LLC has provided the Construction Environmental oversight for the demolition of Kutcher’s Country Club, an 800 acre Catskill Mountain resort, and the repurposing of the same site for a Health and Wellness center, Spa, and Hotel operated by Veria Lifestyle, overseeing and documenting, according to local, state and federal
regulations, the removal and disposal of aboveground/underground petroleum bulk storage tanks, the removal, and disposal of petroleum impacted soil and the removal and disposal of drums containing hazardous materials. EA has completed wetland and wildlife surveys, along with a water survey on Annawanna Lake. EA is currently performing weekly SWPPP surveys.

OWEGO-APALACHIN CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT- FEMA NEPAs FOR THREE BUILDINGS

Ecological Analysis, LLC worked with the Owego Apalachin School district, their consulting engineer and FEMA to complete a NEPA Environmental Assessments for the reconstruction of their Elementary Building, Administration Building and Maintenance building for the school district. EA is currently performing weekly SWPPP surveys.

 

PHASE I / ESA

Ecological Analysis, LLC provided numerous Phase 1 ESA’s throughout the Hudson Valley for our clients. We work on large and small projects from small commercial lots to 2000 plus acre projects.

 

PRIMAX PROPERTIES – SEQRA AND SITE PLAN APPROVALS AND WETLANDS AND WILDLIFE

Ecological Analysis, LLC has completed a wetland and wildlife study and is working as a Team in order to obtain both SEQRA and zoning approval, for a Dollar General Store, while keeping the aesthetic nature of the town.

 

STONEGATE AT NEW WINDSOR - WETLAND DELINEATION AND ACOE PERMIT

Ecological Analysis, LLC completed a wetland delineation for the project accord to the New Draft Interim Northcentral and Northeast Regional Supplement to the Corps of the manual. EA submitted the wetland delineation and requested, and received a Jurisdictional Determination (JD) and a Preconstruction Notification Number (PCN) the project. The project proposed to fill approximately 0.10 acres of regulated wetland for an entrance.

 

TOWN OF NEVERSINK - FEMA NEPA FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF BALL FIELDS LOST TO HURRICANES

Ecological Analysis, LLC worked with the Town of Neversink, their consulting staff, and FEMA to complete a NEPA Environmental Assessment for the reconstruction of the Town’s Recreational Field

 

VARIOUS STORMWATER POLLUTION PREVENTION PLANS (SWPPS)

Ecological Analysis, LLC is currently working on a number of Weekly and Monthly (SWPPS) projects.

 

VARIOUS WETLAND WILDLIFE AND VEGETATION SURVEYS FROM WESTCHESTER TO CHENGO COUNTY

Ecological Analysis, LLC is working on and has completed numerous Wetland, Wildlife and Vegetation surveys for projects in order to assist in the SEQRA requirements. We work as part of a team of consultants on these projects.

WESTBOURNE ESTATES DEIS - DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT (DEIS)

Ecological Analysis, LLC completed a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Westbourne Estates project. EA analyzed the impacts associated with the proposed seasonal and year-round development that would introduce a total of 331 single and multifamily units on 91.73 acres within the Woodbourne Hamlet area of the Town of Fallsburg, New York. This work has been done in accordance with the New York State Environmental Resource Act (SEQRA) with the Town of Fallsburg acting as the Lead agency. The DEIS was accepted by the Town and EA is currently working on the FEIS.

 

WHITE LAKE SCHUL

Ecological Analysis, LLC worked as part of a team to complete and submit a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) for a project that was under an Order of Consent from the NYSDEC. The SWPPP was accepted by the NYSDEC on the first submission. EA then stayed on the project and did the weekly stormwater inspections and filed the Notice of Termination to the NYSDEC once the work was completed.

HYDE PARK - CLIENT REPRESENTATION
Ecological Analysis, LLC has provided both written and verbal representation for our client at the public hearings in the Town of Hyde Park, New York in which the Town wished to create a new water resource law.
